Temperature Measurement
Wire temperature measurement checks a conductor's temperature immediately before or after insulation extrusion, ensuring the insulation bonds properly without overheating the wire. Proton Products offers two InteliTHERM gauges: the HTG400, a handheld unit for spot checks on bare wire, and the SRTG, a fixed inline gauge that continuously monitors moving wire using infrared spectral radiation sensing.

Temperature Measurement FAQ's
What's the difference between the HTG400 and SRTG?
The HTG400 is a portable handheld device for manual spot-checks on bare wire, up to 400°C. The SRTG is a fixed, non-contact inline gauge that continuously measures moving wire from 0.3 mm to 5 mm diameter, 80°C to 300°C.
How accurate are these gauges?
±2°C + 0.2% across the line; the HTG400 specifically achieves ±0.5°C + 0.2% at ambient conditions.
Can the HTG400 measure any wire type?
It's designed for bare wire, unaffected by material type or emissivity, with a diameter range of 0.3–10 mm.
