High Frequency Remote Head Spark Testers

The ST-HFR High-Frequency Spark Tester is manufactured from High-Grade Stainless Steel, ensuring a lifetime of “NO RUST” The Spark Tester is used for Quality Inspection of the cable dielectric strength in order to find Spark Faults.

Extrusion lines, taping lines, rewind lines, inspection and packing lines, are typical processes that require Spark Testers. The ST-HFR Series is a special version of the control and power unit which connects to a remote electrode (sold separately). The ST-HFR Series uses between 5-15 kV High-Frequency Sine Wave Test Voltage and appropriate Electrode tests cable diameters between 5-50 mm (0.20 in – 2 in). The test voltage is applied to the electrode and as the cable passes through the electrode. If there is a weakness, pinhole or break in the insulation material a “spark” will result as the voltage makes contact with the conductor. The ST-HFR Series distinguishes between “Pin Hole” and “Bare Patch” faults. The Advanced Electronic circuitry is fully integrated within the Gauge Head ensuring data integrity and providing a wide selection on connectivity choices. The ST-HFR meets UL1581, UL2556 and EN62230 standards.
